Scientists Develop Near-Field Microscope That Measures Optical Properties

Scientists of the research group of Prof. Dr. Alfred Meixner and Dr. Dai Zhang from the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Tübingen have developed a near-field microscope that can measure the optical properties of e. g. semiconductor thin films with a spatial resolution and sensitivity long thought unachievable due to fundamental physical laws (diffraction limit). Both the optical spectrum and the topography of a surface can be mapped simultaneously with nanometre precision – a nanometre corresponding to one millionth of a millimetre.

Clearfield Launches Turn-Key Package for Small-Count Fiber Deployment

CBS Outdoor and N4D Join to Launch 3D Digital Signage Campaign

CBS Outdoor and N4D have teamed up to launch Grand Central Station's first 3D digital signage campaign. The centerpiece of the campaign is a 14 foot screen displaying commercials in 3D throughout February. The physiologically correct 3D content created by N4D is a first in digital outdoor advertising and is expected to lead the way for this type of application.

Ultratech Secures Follow-On Order for Laser Spike Anneal Tools in Asia

Ultratech, Inc.
