ComNet is launching its first ValueLine eight-channel video/data multiplexer to fulfill the demand of a cost-efficient fiber-optic product. The ValueLine FVT/FVR812 multiplexer sends digitally-encoded video in eight channels along with two data channels through an optical fiber. The ValueLine models of ComNet are all manufactured in the U.S.
The FVT/FVR812 is compatible with SECAM, PAL, and NTSC video transmission protocols. The new ValueLine product supports bi-directional RS 485, 422, and 232 data. The bi-color LED indicators of the multiplexer show the status of data, video, and system. This ValueLine model is suitable for out-of-plant, or unconditioned roadside installations.
ComNet’s Marketing Vice President, Frank Haight, stated that to launch the ComNet’s economic product under the brand of ValueLine makes sense from the angle of product positioning. He added that they have launched a complete fiber-optic solution for the ITS, and security markets in a short duration. The ValueLine models are environmentally hardened, novel, and offer high performance at a cost-effective price, Haight noted.
