ADVA Optical Networking to Offer backbone for SingTel’s WDM Service

ADVA Optical Networking has recently declared that Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) has selected it as a vendor for SingTel’s GigaWaveLite (GWL) network service. The GWL service allows multimedia transmission and delivers real-time applications.

SingTel’s Data Network and Hosting Engineering Director, Lim Ming Kiat, stated that ADVA Optical Networking’s FSP 3000 has been chosen as the platform for the GWL service. The FSP 3000 supports single-fiber technology and ultra-low latency. He added that SingTel provides users the exact Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The FSP 3000 supports several protocols in data center, together with 10Gigabit Ethernet, multiple fibre channel line speeds, ESCON, FICON and others. The FSP 3000 is recognized as interoperable with the majority of the top storage option vendors.

ADVA Optical Networking’s Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology meets the demand for low-latency capacity and high bandwidth. The WDM technology is best suited for disaster recovery, Local Area Network (LAN)-to-LAN and Storage Area Network (SAN) connectivity services.
