Mitsubishi Launches New Dual-Lamp Projectors for Color-Intensive Applications

Presentation Products Division of Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America has launched advanced dual-lamp installation projectors at InfoComm in Las Vegas. The WD8200U WXGA and the XD8100U XGA projectors, which utilize Texas Instruments’ proprietary DLP technology, can be deployed in non-stop applications.

Dual-lamp projector

The WD8200U with 1280 x 800 pixels and the XD8100U with 1024 x 768 pixels can operate in dual or single lamp mode and deliver sharp and bright images of about 5000* lm and 7000* lm, respectively. Both the models incorporate a unique Mitsubishi Electric algorithm called the Mitsubishi super resolution. The menu-driven algorithm enables the user to improve the brightness and sharpness levels of the projected image. The dual-lamp projectors provide interchangeable color wheels for color-intensive and brightness-intensive applications.

The projectors provide a geometric warping, which means images can be produced on curved surfaces and screens in rear- or front-projection mode. In addition to the DLP technology, the projectors also include Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor technology that utilizes system-level enhancements and color-processing algorithms for vibrant colors and greater brightness.
