A pioneer in ultrafast laser technology, Raydiance, has collaborated with Rofin to bring an advanced femtosecond laser technology for industrial applications.
The new StarCut Tube Femto, which incorporates the Raydiance laser technology, is the first complete system to provide cold laser cutting for medical device manufacturers. The StarCut Tube Femto can be used to cut and shape sensitive materials such as platinum, gold, low-melting point polymers and memory alloys accurately without any thermal effect.
Raydiance’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Barry Schuler, stated that users need advanced technological solutions that combine beam delivery, sophisticated motion control, visioning systems and software. He added that the company is happy to collaborate with Rofin to bring their latest technology into the market.
Rofin’s Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Merk, added that in addition to the medical device sector, the cold laser ablation technique can also be configured for microelectronic and photovoltaic applications.
