Infonetics Research Releases Report on Optical Network Hardware in EMEA

Infonetics Research, a market research firm, recently released the 2010 report Optical Network Hardware in EMEA: Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The hardware market is led by incumbent telco investment. Infonetics Research has forecasted a revenue gain of 12% for the optical network hardware market of EMEA in 2010 over 2009.

Andrew Schmitt, optical directing analyst of Infonetics Research stated that Alcatel-Lucent is the leader of market share for EMEA region. Huawei is the leader in Eastern and Central Europe.

According to the report, the future of the EMEA optical network hardware market is driven by factors such as Western Europe’s spending recovery, access networks in the Middle East, an increased use of WDM instead of SDH in Africa. and increased long-haul WDM deployments.

The report tracks WDM and SDH optical hardware for long-haul and metro networks traded by vendors in the region of EMEA. The service offers vendor market size, forecasts, and market share through 2014 by region and country.
