Infonetics Research, a market research firm, recently released the 2010 report Optical Network Hardware in EMEA: Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Andrew Schmitt, optical directing analyst of Infonetics Research stated that Alcatel-Lucent is the leader of market share for EMEA region. Huawei is the leader in Eastern and Central Europe.
According to the report, the future of the EMEA optical network hardware market is driven by factors such as Western Europe’s spending recovery, access networks in the Middle East, an increased use of WDM instead of SDH in Africa. and increased long-haul WDM deployments.
