Cypress Introduces High Sensitivity Machine Vision Image Sensor

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has introduced a new high-speed and high-sensitivity CMOS image sensor for the high end section of the machine vision market ?. This image sensor has applications in intelligent traffic systems, palm print readers, biometric inspection machines and others.

With an image resolution of 25 megapixels, the new VITA 25K sensor offers the industry’s highest throughput for a gadget with a triggered and pipelined global shutter. The device has on offer  the 35 mm optical format either with a monochrome output or with a color digital output.  Its pipelined global shutter capabilities enable optimum exposure levels and reduces motion blur, as such.

The all new VITA 25K sensor is an exteneded version of  the VITA 1300 family with expansion in its capabilities. Cypress will showcase this gadget at the 2010 Image Sensing Show being held at Yokohama, Japan.  Georges Hiltrop, General Manager of Cypress said that with regard to machine vision applications,  the company is expanding its leadership position by way of bringing to the market higher sensitivity and faster CMOS image sensors.
