Advanced Door Security Camera from Northvision Technologies

Northvision Technologies has introduced a new, advanced door camera called the home intellicorder for security purposes. The home intellicorder is a passive InfraRed (PIR) motion detector camera, which records and stores the video in a Secure Digital (SD) card. The SD card can be played back or stored on personal computers. The home intellicorder replaces the standard peepholes in homes.

The home intellicorder enables users to view the persons standing at the other side of the door. One portion of the camera features a liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor recorder that acts as an indoor unit, while the other portion is a passive InfraRed motion sensor camera that functions as an outdoor unit. Both the units are joined by a metal pipe, which contains a data cable. This cable transmits the video data from the camera to the monitor, which records the information in a Secure Digital card.

The outside portion of the home intellicorder features a lens, which is mounted to the door. Homeowners and other users can view and manage the video data recorded on the Secure Digital card.

Northvision Technologies has done an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) project for GE IntelliCorder GE 45227 in the year 2008. The company has also displayed the home intelliCorder at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
