Viking Systems will introduce a model of Next Generation 3DHD visualization system at The European Congress of Laparoscopy and Robotics 2010. In addition to the 3DHD visualization system, the Sony’s 3DHD display system will also be displayed. The event will be conducted from 10 to 12 June 2010 in Rome, Italy.
The event offers a good platform to project latest technological advancements, communication and education on current research and clinical programs related to laparoscopy and robotics.
Viking Systems’ President and Chief Executive Officer, Jed Kennedy, commented that the event offers a good opportunity to demonstrate their technology as a standalone and a cost-effective solution for minimally invasive surgery. He added that at present, almost all laparoscopic surgeries are performed with a two-dimensional (2D) camera, but now the company has planned to provide an advanced three-dimensional (3D) vision system in a flexible format. The 3D vision system will reduce the cost and procedure time and will enhance the quality of care, he said.
Viking Systems initially demonstrated the 3DHD camera system with a prototype 3DHD flat panel display at the annual Clinical Congress in Chicago in 2009. The company has now planned to launch the 3DHD visualization system in Q4 of 2010.
