Planar Ships Clarity LED Series Video Wall Displays

A global leader in specialty display products, Planar Systems, has begun the shipment of its video wall displays called the Clarity LED Series. The Clarity LED Series are light emitting diode (LED) rear-projection displays that remove the need of any ongoing expenditure and interruptions encountered with lamp changes. The Clarity LED Series offer a 60,000-h life and requires minimum maintenance.

The Clarity LED Series features the company’s patented Clarity NaturalColor technology as well as an advanced LED-illumination technology. The former maps a wide range of color palette and offers enhanced color performance. Such optimized color performance is important in control room surroundings that demand accuracy, consistency and image quality.

Planar Systems’ Vice President of Marketing, Jennifer Davis, informed that the present LED technology is very limited because of inferior image and color quality. LEDs are capable of producing a variety of colors but the colors they produce are not quite original. She informed that the company’s Clarity LED Series are optimized to provide specific color spaces for specific applications.

The Clarity LED Series comprises five products with different resolutions and sizes. At present, Planar offers the Clarity RP-LED and c70HD-LED products that have 50 and 67 inches SXGA+ resolution and 70 inches with 1920x1080 resolution, respectively. The Clarity RX-LED rear-projection video wall displays will be shipped in third quarter, 2010.

The Clarity LED Series will be launched at the InfoComm 2010.
