Panasonic has launched the new Fisheye 8mm/F3.5 lens, namely, H-F008, adding to its LUMIX G series of lenses. This lens is offered along with a 16 mm lens that is equivalent to a 35 mm camera lens. The new interchangeable digital fisheye lens is the world¡¦s lightest as well as smallest. It can be used with DSL Micro and LUMIX G Series cameras.
The Fisheye 8 mm/F3.5 lens offers diagonal angle view in 180„a. This facilitates a distinct deformation effect and an exclusive perspective, helping to make creative photos and videos. The compact lens has achieved remarkable downsizing with the help of the Micro Four Thirds system standard.
When an ED (extra-low dispersion glass) lens is selected, it enables a descriptive, stable image capturing at any distance so that distortion and chromatic aberration are minimized. With the help of the latest inner focus system, the lens can capture extreme close-ups from a long distance.
The new fisheye lens facilitates using accurate, high-speed contrast AF system when it is used with the LUMIX G Series DSLM cameras. As the lens has seven blades, it gives a rounded shape to the aperture to provide smooth effect even in out-of-focus areas, when image is captured at larger aperture configurations. The H-F008 Fisheye 8mm/F3.5 lens also incorporates a stepping motor that enables silent and smooth focusing while in video as well as photo modes.
The Senior Product Manager of Imaging at Panasonic Darin Pepple said that the new lens provides all kinds of photographers the ability to try all possibilities and develop their creativity.
