MIC Electronics, an LED manufacturer, reported that it has partnered with Beltron Telecom (BTL) to offer energy-efficient lighting solutions. The sustainable, economic lighting will be distributed in the rural parts of Bihar, India, for off-grid applications.
Under the Rs 66 crores deal, the company will supply BTL with 3,30,000 LED lanterns. The LED lanterns can be charged independently with the help of solar panels. Moreover, the lanterns can also be charged through generating stations that are powered by bio-fuel or with the help of community charging centers.
The company noted that the demand for LED lamps is 30 million units in Bihar, and it has targeted to provide 10 million units in the following three years. The company had already entered into an arrangement with IOC (Indian Oil Corporation) to supply LED lanterns in seven Indian states. MIC Electronics will utilize IOC outlets to market its products.
Further, the company said that it is intending to sign a tripartite deal with IOC and BTL for distributing LED lanterns in Bihar.
