ACME Launches Rugged Portable MicroTCA Platform

Acme Portable Machines, Inc., a supplier of portable platforms, announced the launch of its Versa 100, a rugged portable MicroTCA platform. Featuring a 15'' LCD display and a full-size keyboard, the Versa 100 is ideal for applications development, testing or demonstration.

The Versa 100 is equipped with ELMA Electronic’s integrated backplane that offers two full-size and three mid-size AMC card slots, providing good flexibility. The MCH system from NAT comprises Freescale ColdFire CPU, 16MB DRAM, 16MB Flash, SAS/SATA ports, GbE at Fabric A and a clock module. The Versa 100 uses a processor card based on Trenton Technology, Adlink storage card and a power supply delivering 300W. The 1024x768 resolution LCD display is protected by anti-glare glass. Other options, including a sunlight readable display and a touch screen, are available to suit application requirements.

The Versa 100’s COTS solution enables users to select different MicroTCA card makers for specific applications, thereby reducing configuration cost and lead time. The Versa family of products is designed to allow easy customization and to withstand extreme environments. The products comply with Mil-Std 810F for vibration and shock. The Versa 100 can be deployed in the fields of military aviation, data centers and telecom.
