Matrox Orion HD Supports HD and SD Video Format

The Matrox Orion HD, a high-performance graphics and video capture board, now supports both high-definition and simple-definition video format.

The Orion HD captures the image from two analog or digital high-definition video sources and transmits the same on the desktop. The captured video and images can be in different formats. The graphics adapter also supports 1080p/60 format.

The Orion HD supports flexible connectivity and diverse interfaces and switches between YPrPb, CVBS, RGB, DVI-D and SDI signals on individual path. This enables users to capture and display the videos in varying formats such as PC resolutions up to 1920x1200, HD (1080i, 1080p and 720p) and SD (NTSC and PAL).

A graphics controller in the Orion HD enables it to function either as primary or secondary display equipment. Captured images and video gets displayed on a separate monitor or a desktop. The Orion HD also supports standard graphics annotations.

The Orion HD also features a PCIe x16 host interface and an on-board buffering that allows users to archive and play back numerous high-definition video streams. The adapter is supported by the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) application development toolkit under 32/64-bit Microsoft Windows 7.
