Avnet and Luminus Sign LED Distribution Agreement

Avnet Electronics Marketing Asia and Luminus Devices have signed a LED distribution agreement to cater for the Asian market.

Under the agreement, Avnet will supply Luminus PhlatLight light emitting diodes (LEDs) products to the Asian customers. The company will also provide design-chain and supply-chain solutions that will aid Luminus’ clients to develop a range of standard and specialty lighting products quickly and efficiently.

Luminus Devices’ Chief Executing Officer, Keith T.S. Ward, expressed his delight over the collaboration agreement. He stated that the Asian market is witnessing a huge demand for the company’s PhlatLight LEDs products, and Avnet’s reputation as a leading distributor of electronic products in Asia will further strengthen their customer base.

The Senior Director of Avnet Design Service/Segment Marketing, Andy Wong, informed that LED lighting products completely differ from the standard lighting products. High-luminescence LED lighting equipment is used in a number of applications such as optical, thermal and electronics applications. Such broad range of applications presents a daunting scenario for manufacturers. To address this need, Avnet Design Services provides technical support that reduces these problems and helps develop application–specific LED products quickly and easily.

EBV Elektronik, a part of Avnet, supplies Luminus Devices’ equipment across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Avnet also distributes Luminus’ products in the U.S..
