LED manufacturer Seoul Semiconductor reported that it will unveil many new products at the Lightfair International 2010. The trade show will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The new products to be launched are the Acriche 1 W A6 and the 4 W A7 lamps.
The new LED lamps are small in size when compared to the existing lamps under Acriche line. With 8 x 8 mm dimension, the A7 is much smaller than the other Acriche lamps that are 18 x 12 mm in dimension. The A6 and A7 can be utilized for different applications such as general and street lightings.
The Acriche series of LED lamps are the first AC-driven LED products to be manufactured in high volume. As these lamps do not need a converter, it is cheaper to produce the end products. These LED products also have a longer life than other LEDs, which are dependent on a power converter for their lifetime.
In addition, Seoul Semiconductor will also release three LED products belonging to its Acriche Z-Power series. The Acriche Z5 LED features a compact ceramic design and provides high color rending index. The Z7 lamp offers high efficiency and incorporates four high power die that are addressable separately. With full color options, the Acriche Z6 LED is suitable for architectural, decorative and general lighting applications.
The Company, which had recently developed a new lamp with the ability to deliver 150 lumens per watt, will release its products between May 12 and 15, 2010. Seoul Semiconductor’s Marketing Director for North American operations, Doug Hardman said that the worldwide market for LED lights crosses $5 billion annually, while continuing to grow faster. As customer’s thinking over eco-friendly practices is increasing, the Acriche products have a broader demand, he added.
The Senior Vice President of the company, S.M. Lee lauded the trade show stating it as a good chance to demonstrate their innovative technologies to leaders in the lighting market.
