Carmanah reported that it will launch two advancements in its solar LED technology at the LIGHTFAIR 2010.
The industry-first developments in off-grid solar lighting technology include an adaptive lighting technology and a self-contained light, namely, EverGEN 1720, which offers the highest output among other light models of the company.
The adaptive lighting technology will be introduced as part of the latest occupancy sensing capabilities that await issuance of patent. The sensing capabilities offer unique functionalities. The new technology allows the solar LED lights network to offer a synchronized low-high operation whenever any light in the network detects motion.
With the help of occupancy and mesh networking sensors, all lights of the network communicate wirelessly. The network of lights offers illumination according to the motion. The technology can be used for lightings in different areas such as pathways, parking lots, secure facilities and places where lighting plays an essential role for the maintenance of security and safety.
The occupancy sensing function can be programmed for activation in full or set distance. When any motion is sensed the full activation option allows synchronized activation within the entire network, while the set distance activation allows lights to get activated within the set limit of distance. The set distance activation enables the lights to get illuminated depending on the sensed motion.
Further, Carmanah will introduce the new EverGEN 1720 solar LED light that is slim in shape similar to EverGEN 1710, but offers double the lumen output. The new LED light has the ability to achieve a maximum of 10,000 lumens under an ideal solar condition combined with customized operating profiles. Otherwise, it can deliver 5,000 lumens under normal conditions. The EverGEN 1720 light is suitable for applications in residential roadway, perimeter, parking lot, sign and different site lighting.
The solar LED light can be installed within 30 min of time. Carmanah’s CEO Ted Lattimore said that the EverGEN light does not need a conduit to be trenched or installed for its installation. As they can be staged entirely on the ground as a system and hoisted as one unit, the EverGEN 1700 series minimizes cost and time of the installation process, he noted.
