Precise Biometrics Introduces Biometric Logon Application for Windows 7

Use your fingerprint to personalize logon to your computer. With Microsoft’s Windows 7 there is an increased focus on fingerprint recognition and usability.

Precise Biometrics (STO:PREC) has leveraged this new functionality into a computer logon solution for end-users, demonstrating the simplicity of biometrics.

The logon application offers a convenient way of personalizing the access to your computer and files using your fingerprint. It can be used with most swipe sensors on the market, such as laptop-integrated sensors. The readers have to be supported in Windows 7’s framework for biometric applications; Windows Biometric Framework (WBF).

- We want to show how easy it is to use fingerprint recognition in everyday life. It will open up for sales of fingerprint readers, but most important; it is a great entering point for those considering more complete and secure authentication solutions building on our more comprehensive Precise Match-on-Card™. Our solutions build on the best technology available, which is proven in external studies. It’s also satisfying as Microsoft’s focus on biometrics is a sure sign of the maturity of the market and the technology, says Karin Sveheim, Director of Markets at Precise Biometrics.

The logon application from Precise Biometrics, called Precise BioMatch™ Logon for Windows 7, is available for download at Precise Biometrics’ website.
