Last night, at a grand gala dinner at the Capella Resort, Singapore, City Telecom (H.K.) Ltd. ("City Telecom") (Nasdaq:CTEL) (HKSE:1137), accepted Telecom Asia's 2010 "Best Broadband Carrier" Award.
In its 13th year, the Telecom Asia Awards have been presented since 1998 and are the largest and longest-running telecoms industry honors in Asia. The awards recognize innovative and outstanding performance by Asian service providers and industry executives. Final selection of winners was made by an independent panel of industry experts, who cast votes on the basis of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance. Previous winners of the award in this "Best Broadband" category include NTT Communications (Japan), PCCW (Hong Kong), StarHub Ltd. (Singapore) and Telstra Corp. (Australia).
