Aurora to Showcase NC2000 Optical Node Platform at ANGA Cable Show

Aurora Networks, Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, will showcase its evolving solutions for the European cable market at this year’s ANGA Cable Show, taking place May 4-6 in Cologne, Germany.

Aurora Networks’ solutions on display include the NC2000 Optical Node Platform designed specifically to meet the needs of European cable operators deploying or upgrading their networks to Fiber Deep or segmenting nodes.

In addition, Aurora Networks will showcase its FTTP solutions, including RFoG, RFPON and GEPON platforms, and Fiber Deep and segmentation solutions. The company will show a full range of headend equipment, including recently released products optimized for its RFoG platform. Aurora Networks also will have a display showing how European cable operators can use the company’s digital return technology to address the DOCSIS® 3.0 upstream challenge.

Aurora Networks is located at booth No. B48 at the ANGA Cable Show.

What Aurora Networks Says

“The technology needs of each European cable operator are different. Aurora Networks provides solutions that address specific requirements for these cable operators as they evolve their networks for the services available today and tomorrow," said John Dahlquist, vice president, marketing, Aurora Networks. "This year’s ANGA Cable Show will give European cable operators an opportunity to learn how they can use our future-proof, cost-effective solutions to increase network capacity as well as building an evolutionary path for future upgrades.”

Aurora Networks Solutions at ANGA

  • Aurora Networks’ NC2000 Optical Node is a segmentable, wall- or cabinet-mounted node platform. Providing support for all of the company’s node and VHub modules, European cable operators can maximize the capacity of HFC, Fiber Deep and RFoG deployments. The platform also provides a migration path for future network architectures. In addition, the NC2000 supports the company’s FTTP technologies, Node PON™ and Fiber on Demand™.
  • Aurora Networks’ RFoG, RFPON (RFoG plus PON) and GEPON solutions enable cable operators to deploy FTTP architectures, incorporating unique components to overcome the limitations associated with more traditional approaches. Aurora Networks’ RFPON platform allows cable operators to introduce PON capabilities into existing RFoG environments.
  • Fiber Deep enables cable operators to significantly increase network capacity while reducing operating costs and energy consumption by greater than 50 percent. Pushing fiber deeper into the network eliminates the need for RF amplifiers, which results in the removal of about 70 percent of actives found in a cable network, and that can reduce operational and maintenance costs by as much as 65 percent. The reduction in energy consumption makes Fiber Deep a truly green technology for cable.
  • Segmentation solutions from Aurora Networks include the company’s xWDM technology and the company’s scalable node platforms that allow cable operators to easily and cost-effectively expand their networks.
  • Digital return supports cable operators launching upstream channel bonding with DOCSIS® 3.0. Digital return brings performance and operational savings to an operator. And the scalability of digital return, from return concatenation to full segmentation, provides a compelling fiber-efficient solution.

Also at ANGA, Luis Yu, senior product manager at Aurora Networks, will discuss RFPON and how it can enable cable’s all-IP future, as part of a session covering how cable operators can increase network capacity. The “Fibre – Handling Increasing Capacity” session takes place Thursday, May 6, at 10 a.m.
