Avago Receives New Order for Optical Finger Navigation Components

Avago Technologies (Nasdaq:AVGO), a leading supplier of analog interface components for wired and wireless communications, industrial and consumer applications, announced today that it has received a further order for Optical Finger Navigation (OFN) active components from a significant OFN module manufacturer.

Avago is supplying the optical sensing engines for OFN modules to this manufacturer. The order addresses demand from multiple mobile handset OEMs and is expected to generate sales to Avago in excess of $40 million. This new order relates to anticipated product shipments over the 12 months commencing July 2010.

Avago Technologies is a pioneer in the field of navigation sensors and has made substantial investments over many years developing the fundamental enabling technology behind optical mouse sensors, as well as a number of novel innovations like OFN. In collaboration with this module manufacturer, Avago has been engaged in developing OFN solutions for multiple mobile handset OEMs over the past eighteen months.
