Aurora to Exhibit Optical Network Solutions at CCBN, Beijing

Aurora Networks, Inc., the only optical transport solution provider focused on delivering a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services, will be exhibiting at the China Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN) convention taking place March 23-25, 2010, in Beijing, demonstrating its solutions for China’s cable operators that are evolving their networks for the delivery of next-generation services.

During CCBN, Aurora Networks will demonstrate its cost-saving, future-proof network solutions such as Fiber Deep, RFoG/RFPON, VHub technology for headend consolidation and digital return, among other products.

In conjunction with its work at CCBN, Aurora Networks is launching a new Web site for customers in China, at: www.auroranetworks.cn.com

The Web site will support Aurora Networks’ growing efforts in China. Last year, the company opened an office in Shanghai. In addition, Aurora Networks partnered with Faithpower, Ltd., a distributor that is supporting the company with product line deployments, field service and other support capabilities.

What Aurora Networks Says

“The constantly evolving cable market in China presents a unique opportunity,” said Pirjo Tuomi, vice president of worldwide sales, Aurora Networks. “Cable operators in China want to offer the sophisticated services that their customers are demanding. Aurora Networks has the resources and personnel in place to support cable operators in China as they evolve their networks to support the services available today and tomorrow.”

Aurora Networks’ Solutions at CCBN

  • Industry-leading RFoG and RFPON (RFoG with a smooth migration to full PON) solutions enable cable operators to take advantage of FTTP architectures, incorporating unique components to overcome the deployment limitations associated with traditional approaches.
  • Innovative Fiber Deep solutions that deliver a passive HFC architecture and products that enable cable operators to significantly increase network capacity per subscriber while reducing their on-going operating expenses – cable’s first green architecture.
  • Unique VHub technology from Aurora Networks performs all the functions of a fully operational hub in node housing. VHub moves the functionality of an indoor hub into a weather-proof enclosure the operator can site closer to the optical nodes located in a network. In addition, the company’s VHub technology allows cable operators to quickly and cost-effectively consolidate headend and hub sites.
  • Digital return technology from Aurora Networks allows cable operators to overcome the shortcomings of analog return path systems. Digital return supports the upstream channel bonding requirements that are part of advanced data deployments by cable operators. And the scalability of digital return provides a compelling fiber-efficient solution.
