Mammoth Networks Delivers Cost-Effective, High-Speed Connectivity to Rural Market

Today from the ChannelPartners Conference & EXPO in Las Vegas, Mammoth Networks announced its continued nationwide expansion as a facilities-based reseller with the completion of its most recent fiber deployment, in Denver CO. Using Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) equipment, this installation was ‘lit’ on February 28, 2010, and can carry a signal of up to 10 Gigabits per second.

This new fiber will be used to aggregate rural exchange connectivity from around the Rocky Mountains. The company is able to deliver cost-effective, intrastate, high-speed connectivity to empower service providers based in rural markets that would otherwise be unfairly price-gouged by local and regional carriers. Mammoth Networks stands apart from other resellers as it maintains its own optical equipment and routers.

Jesse DuPont, TCT network supervisor and Mammoth Networks’ customer, offered this testimonial:

"Until October of 2009, we had been relying on a sole Internet carrier to provide our connection to the Internet. As reliable as it was, we knew that we needed to have a diverse path to the Internet. This is when we started talking to Mammoth Networks.

“We had been working with Mammoth for about a year after we obtained a DS3 ATM aggregation circuit from them in late 2008 that we've used to backhaul fixed wireless Internet traffic from a couple of communities. When we approached them about providing us with a GigE connection to the Internet, they provided a competitively priced quote with favorable terms. As a rural telco, we still had to obtain a private-line circuit to Mammoth's POP, but the cost of the private-line circuit and Mammoth's IP connection was still very competitive and it provided us with the diversity we needed.”

TCT is a rural telecommunications company providing high-quality Telephone, Internet and Television services to its customers. Located in North Central Wyoming, TCT has been providing high-speed Internet for over ten years.

“The Mammoth team has been responsive and ready to serve our needs. TCT's Internet bandwidth needs continues to rise at a rate of about 100 Mbps per year, and Mammoth Networks will be an integral part of that growth,” concluded Mr. DuPont.

“With the uncertainty surrounding Broadband in the U.S., and the explosion of IP communications, it is imperative that companies in rural areas have the necessary resources to not only compete, but also to prosper,” said Mammoth Networks President and Founder, Brian Worthen. “We are committed to working with the independent and smaller carriers across the country that do not have many options; they should not be hamstrung with unfair costs by larger carriers and connectivity providers.”

In 2009, Mammoth Networks surpassed several noteworthy corporate milestones. In addition to establishing POPs in both Atlanta and Chicago, Mammoth achieved monthly revenue growth every month of the year.
