Panasonic to Provide IP Video Cameras for Supervising and Observing During 2010 Olympic Winter Games

Panasonic Corporation, the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, is pleased to announce that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have selected two models of Panasonic IP surveillance cameras for indoor and outdoor competition venues and other Olympic facilities for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Panasonic's state-of-the-art technology is intended to be used in conjunction with other security technology to secure official Olympic sites and sporting venues. The high picture quality and high-sensitivity surveillance camera systems will be an integral part of the RCMP's plan to offer all visitors and athletes a safe and enjoyable experience at the Games.

"Panasonic security products have been used by the RCMP in many high-profile rapid and temporary deployments," said Jim Brown, Director, Professional Imaging and Display Solutions, Panasonic Canada Inc. "Our surveillance cameras provide them with the reliability and high-quality IP imaging which will assist in providing the RCMP a bird's eye view of the Olympic sites."
