TELUS to Resell MediaTile Cellular Digital Signage Platform Under its Brand Name

TELUS, one of Canada's leading telecommunication companies, and The MediaTile Company, Canada, the leader in 3G and 4G cellular digital signage and SaaS solutions, today announced they have entered an agreement enabling TELUS to resell MediaTile products and services under their own brand name.

The “White-Label” agreement provides TELUS with access to MediaTile’s full line of Digital Sign in a Box™ solutions and the web-based MediaCast System, which provides centralized control, media delivery and playlist scheduling.

“We chose MediaTile’s award-winning, cellular digital signage platform to resell as our own because it eliminates many of the technological costs and complexities associated with traditional digital signage networks,” said Eric Fergin, director, collaboration products and services for TELUS. “The all-in-one displays integrates TELUS’ new 3G+ wireless network, making it easy for customers to deploy and operate a network of displays almost anywhere, taking advantage of Canada’s largest 3G+ network. Combined with the web-based MediaCast System which handles content delivery and management, no information technology (IT) equipment, services, additional software or technical training is required to operate a sophisticated communications network.”

The new TELUS Digital Signage solution is ideal for organizations looking for a more efficient and effective means of communicating with their constituents. With full support for video, Flash, RSS, and other dynamic content, TELUS Digital Signage is a perfect fit for both public and private networks, including point-of-wait, point-of-transit and point-of-sale networks. The all-in-one displays are available in 19”, 32”, 42” and 47” configurations and require nothing more than a power outlet for operation, making them a particularly good choice for retail, government, and corporate communications networks.

“Having TELUS offer a digital signage solution under their own brand name is a major milestone for the digital signage industry in Canada,” said Dave White, President of MediaTile Canada, an authorized value added solution provider for The MediaTile Company. “TELUS is a name that customers trust, and one that millions of subscribers rely upon for their day-to-day communications. By adding MediaTile into their ‘digital signage’ solutions product mix, TELUS can now meet their customers’ need for the new generation of dynamic, out-of-home communication networks.”

One of the key benefits of the MediaTile and TELUS solution is the integration and use of 3G+ wireless network, which will enable a smoother eventual transition to 4G LTE technology. Additional benefits of cellular digital signage include:

  • Simplified deployment and maintenance; no need to add or tap into on-site infrastructure
  • Highly secure; completely independent from existing on-site business networks
  • More flexible deployments options, and the ability to move displays easily as needed
  • Always on; no need to invest additional resources keeping Wi-Fi or LAN operational 24x7
  • Plenty of bandwidth, completely separate network with zero impact to existing networks and carrier-grade reliability

Also licensed to TELUS is MediaTile’s MediaCast System. The MediaCast System dramatically simplifies the process of communicating across a digital signage network with greater relevance, impact and influence. The MediaCast System is a SaaS (Software as a Service) based application accessible from standard web-browsers to remotely control and monitor a network of digital signs. With its user-friendly, highly visual, drag-and-drop interface, the system is popular both with novice and sophisticated users. Now in its fourth generation of release, the MediaCast System is a highly reliable, scalable and secure application.
