GIC Introduces Jason Wu Designed Point-and-Shoot Digital Camera Collection

General Imaging (GIC), exclusive licensee of GE branded digital cameras, today unveiled "Create by Jason Wu," the result of a year-long exclusive collaboration with one of today's leading fashion designers, Jason Wu, to develop a unique collection of point-and-shoot cameras. Create represents a technical evolution in how consumers take pictures, with simplicity at the forefront and introduces Jason Wu's timeless style and luxurious detailing to the world of digital cameras.

The perfect blend of fashion and simplicity in a new breed of camera

The Create collection is available in a variety of custom metal and leather colors, selected by Wu. Create seamlessly blends his rich sense of style with the latest camera technology. Create has one-touch operation to record videos, take pictures and easily delete photos, eliminating the need to navigate through cumbersome menus and screens.  Compatibility and connectivity issues are also a thing of the past with Create. The camera is equipped with built-in memory and has a retractable USB plug for convenient transfer or viewing of photos and videos on laptops, desktop computers and televisions with USB ports. The camera's built-in battery charges easily via a USB plug or the optional wall adapter that is included. Create's built-in software enables automatic backup and playback of pictures and video on PC's. Create is also compatible with iPhoto® for Mac users.

"Our in-depth research told us that consumers ultimately want simplicity when buying a digital point-and-shoot camera," said Paul Meyhoefer, General Imaging's vice president of Marketing and Product Planning. "They want to take great photos when they are out with their friends and family without the frustration of worrying about camera settings being right or risk missing out on capturing their precious memories. Jason brought a sense of fashion to these cameras and gave them aesthetic appeal, which in conjunction with our technical expertise for ease-of-use makes this collection a major departure from anything else in the market."

Jason Wu is the 27-year-old designer who gained international recognition for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama and his countless loyal clients and celebrities including Diane Kruger, Natalie Portman, and Drew Barrymore, among others. Create by Jason Wu includes distinctive accessories that echo Wu's signature style and love of luxurious details. Accessories include a designer leather camera case; soft, microfiber camera pouch that doubles as a lens cleaning cloth; and elegant wrist and neck straps for the camera.
