Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer Helps to Locate Faults in Fiber Optics

GAO Instruments recommends this compact Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) ,It is commonly used in the manufacturing, construction and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The OTDR is an ideal solution for engineers and technicians to measure connection or transmission loss and locate faults or breaks in fiber optics.

Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer

GAO Instruments’ rugged OTDR, model A0500001, features a short, 1.6m event dead zone, 0.1m sample resolution with 65k sampling points and a pulse width of 10ns to 20480ns. The high performance OTDR reads and writes files in Bellcore GR196 file format. It transmits data to a PC via serial or parallel interface and offers a large memory capacity for data storage. A USB interface is also provided for data transmission. This optical time domain reflectometer has a large color LCD screen with touch panel to clearly display signal analysis results. What’s more, the OTDR continuously operates for over eight hours when it is completely charged; battery levels are displayed accordingly.
