Solido, a 3D printing company, has introduced a professional grade 3D desktop printer affordable for any user during SolidWorks World 2010. The SD300 Pro starts at $2,950 when purchased with the Platinum Value Pack Program, and is expected to increase the accessibility of 3D printing.
Suited for all stages of production, the SD300 Pro enables users to produce detailed, rigid prototypes at their workstations with accuracy within 0.004 inch. Parts do not include any toxic chemicals, they alleviate the need for post build curing and parts can be drilled, finished and assembled to produce large models without outsourcing. The capacity for rapid prototyping, low total cost of ownership, quality and integrity of parts, as well as the ability to print optically transparent models with flexible living hinges are just a few of the many benefits.
“Companies are looking for ways to save time and money, and the Solido SD300 Pro does just that,” said Tim Crown, president of Solido USA. “We’re making rapid prototyping affordable, which means you can spend less time waiting for your part and more time perfecting the details as you go to market.”
The SD300 PRO is priced at only $2,950, when purchased with a Platinum Value Pack, which has everything needed to start printing immediately, including 24 modeling kits with modeling material and glue, 8 additional cutting knives and 4 additional magnetic pads. The total Platinum Value Pack price for the printer, modeling kits and accessories is $14,950. The Platinum Value Pack also can be leased for $0 down and only $514 per month, when based on a 36 month lease. Individual SD300 PRO 3D printers comes with one modeling kit, two cutting knives and two magnetic pads, retailing for $9,950.
“The ultimate goal for 3D printing is to casually print CAD models as you would a simple document,” said Scott Harris, co-founder of Solidworks Inc., and member of the Solido Board of Directors. “The Solido SD300 Pro can print models quietly, accurately and inexpensively right in your office. With no toxic and messy materials or complicated handling, Solido is a game-changer."
