Litetronics International, Inc., a global specialty lighting industry leader and innovator, is helping restaurants go green without sacrificing their unique ambiance with the 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb. The primary challenge restaurants face when seeking energy efficient lighting alternatives for their dining rooms is finding an affordable light bulb that dims as well as incandescent.
“Lighting design plays a crucial part in the dining experience that a restaurant offers its customers, said Bob Sorensen, vice president of marketing of Litetronics. “If a restaurant is dimming its lights to create a specific ambiance, it does not want to sacrifice that atmosphere for the sake of saving energy because customer satisfaction is most important.”
To solve this challenge, Litetronics created the 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb, which generates 750 lumens and saves up to 75% on energy costs, to replace the 60-watt A19 incandescent, one of the most prevalent bulbs found in restaurants. Micro-Brite’s cold cathode technology allows it to dim to 5% of its light output, so restaurants can save energy in dimmable fixtures without changing their customers’ dining experience. Because Litetronics cold cathode light bulbs do not require any additional equipment, restaurant operators do not incur additional costs when switching to Litetronics energy efficient lighting.
Sorensen also noted, “Many of the restaurant operators that have switched to the 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite light bulb were unhappy with the alternative energy-saving lighting products. Standard dimmable CFLs don’t dim as low as they needed, and LEDs are too expensive. Micro-Brite offers restaurants the performance and dimmability they need at a price they can afford.”
