Aide Solar, a large-scale producer of photovoltaic modules, today announced that its new 230 watt poly-crystalline black frame solar panels have debuted as an energy-efficient feature on the NextGen “Home for the Generations” at the International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, January 19-22, 2010. The 1,800 sq. foot home spotlighting friendly products and a greater focus on energy efficiency was built onsite at IBS as part of the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s "Builders’ Challenge.”
“Black frame panels offer an alternative to the typical aluminum frames used for most silicon photovoltaic panels, and give a more elegant appearance that blends beautifully with roof lines and tiles,” said Raymond C. Wiley, director, North America Sales, Aide Solar, U.S.A. “The NextGen Home experience is the perfect way to showcase our product as an energy-efficient option for builders seeking to provide energy-saving advantages to new home buyers. We’re proud that our panels are a part of such a worthwhile endeavor.”
Launched in 2008, the DOE Builders’ Challenge is a national energy savings program calling on the U.S. homebuilding industry to build 220,000 new high performance homes by 2012. Under its terms, a high performance home is one using at least 30 percent less energy than a typical new home meeting the criteria of the latest national model building code.
