Kaai Demonstrated Green Laser Diodes at Longest Continuous-Wave Emission

Kaai, Inc., a world leader in commercialization of green and blue laser diodes, announced today a recent demonstration of green laser diodes at 523nm, the longest continuous-wave green laser diode emission reported to date. The company will display green and blue laser diodes at its private suite at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada January 7-11, 2010.

Kaai’s lasers are based on InGaN semiconductor technology and are fabricated on innovative nonpolar and semipolar GaN substrates. Direct diode green lasers offer dramatic improvement in size, weight, and cost over conventional gas or solid state lasers and enable a variety of new applications in consumer projection displays, defense pointers and illuminators, biomedical instrumentation and therapeutics, and industrial imaging applications.
