Nemotek Technologie, a manufacturer of customized Wafer-Level Cameras (WLCs) for portable applications, today announced in-house testing capabilities for its WLCs. As the first company to offer WLC design, manufacturing and now testing within a single facility, Nemotek Technologie is further simplifying the supply chain process and costs for image sensor and camera module makers.
Sensor and camera module makers previously turned to advanced testing houses for WLC testing, resulting in a longer production process and higher manufacturing costs. With the capabilities of in-house camera testing, Nemotek Technologie is able to test the WLCs’ technical specifications relative to each customer’s expectations, guaranteeing the highest performing, quality products are shipped. Through a series of in-house electrical, image characterization and camera characterization tests, the company is continuing its commitment to provide customers with high quality, low-defect customized wafer-level solutions and services.
“The addition of camera testing brings our wafer-level product offering full circle and just in time for us to expand our capacity capabilities for 2010 and beyond,” said Jacky Perdrigeat, CEO of Nemotek Technologie. “By already working closely with customers throughout the camera design and manufacturing process, our new WLC testing shifts an important process in the production cycle to a partner who knows the product best – the WLC manufacturer.”
Taking place in Nemotek Technologie’s certified Class 10 clean room and facility located in Morocco, the wafer-level cameras complete a series of tests. The camera electrical tests focus on the operating software and are used to test the camera leakage and currents, easily pinpointing any electrical defects that may affect the camera’s performance. In addition, the camera’s images undergo in-depth resolution, distortion, signal-to-noise ratio and color accuracy evaluations to ensure the camera accurately meets customers' requirements.
