Matrox Xenia Pro to be Used to Demonstrate Triple NEC Monitor at RSNA 2009

Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, is pleased to announce that NEC Display Solutions, one of the world's leading display manufacturers, will be demonstrating a unique, triple NEC monitor configuration powered by a single Matrox Xenia Pro(TM) display controller board at RSNA 2009 (South Building, Hall A: Booth #5665).

The 23" wide format NEC MultiSync EA231Wmi 1920 x 1080 full HD color display provides extra on-screen real-estate for radiology worklists, while dual NEC MD213MC 3MP high-brightness medical displays deliver the flexibility of color displays and image performance rivaling that of grayscale displays. Matrox Xenia Pro provides high-quality image processing power with triple-monitor support, enabling quicker installation and resulting in less support issues than a typical multi-board configuration.

"The Matrox Xenia Pro card is a good fit for our displays because of the high performance and easy setup it offers our customers," stated Stan Swiderski Business Development Manager for Professional and Medical Displays with NEC Display Solutions of America.

Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager with NEC Display Solutions Europe, agrees, "Strong, stable performance combined with flexible configuration options makes Matrox Xenia Pro the obvious choice for powering our range of NEC displays."

The NEC MultiSync MD series line of displays includes 2, 3, 4 and 5 megapixel monitors that are designed for the demanding needs of medical imaging and PACS. Matrox Xenia Series is currently shipping with a range of NEC displays including MD212MC, MD213MC and MD304MC high-Brightness, high-resolution color displays, plus MD213MG and MD205MG grayscale displays, designed for long life and stability. Features of the monitors include digital image uniformity compensation and tri-stimulus front sensors to ensure image consistency across the entire screen. The monitors are individually factory calibrated to give out-of-the-box DICOM grayscale display conformance for luminance and include technologies that ensure a crisp display of the most delicate shadings.

"Matrox is pleased to continue its long-standing relationship with NEC Display Solutions," says George Rigas, Business Development Manager for Medical Imaging, Matrox Graphics Inc. "Our objective with leading-edge display partners is to deliver innovative technologies to medical imaging professionals to simplify and enhance their productivity."

Matrox Xenia is the first native PCI Express single-slot board with all-digital, triple-monitor output, and the flexibility to drive an array of display configurations. Xenia Series supports resolutions from under 1MP to 8MP, with up to 1GB of on-board memory, and features new technology to ensure optimum display calibration (via Matrox DLC(TM) and 8/10/13-bit gamma LUTs). Xenia also provides medical imaging developers and integrators looking for leading edge technology the development potential for increasing hardware-accelerated performance via hardware LUTs, multiple hardware window IDs, and additional hardware features.
