The Conference is organized to facilitate the achievement of scientific excellence within European countries in the rapidly growing field of quantum engineering by providing a programme where leading scientists and young researchers from diverse physics communities will get a chance to present their work, to discuss scientific understanding and recent developments in complementary areas of physics relevant for the quantum engineering of entangled states and quantum devices.
Recent results on the theory and experiments concerning quantum devices in superconducting, cold atoms, quantum optics and solid state systems will be reviewed together with latest achievements in quantum information significant for the engineering of quantum entangled states.

- Pasquale Sodano, Università di Perugia, Department of Physics, IT
Co-chair:
- Andrea Trombettoni, SISSA, IT
Quantum engineering is by now the subject of increasing attention, which is further increased by the huge progresses achieved in the realization and control of mesoscopic systems displaying macroscopic quantum coherence.
After the realization of experiments where operations with few qubits were performed in several physical setups, a meeting - where perspectives and problems arising in quantum information and in many areas of condensed matter physics may be jointly discussed and debated - is highly desirable.

Recent results on the theory and experiments concerning quantum devices in superconducting, cold atoms, quantum optics and solid state systems will be reviewed together with latest achievements in quantum information significant for the engineering of quantum entangled states. The goal is to stimulate a long lasting synergy between different physics communities to face the challenging task of engineering new quantum settings where quantum information protocols can be implemented.
Conference format:
- lectures by invited high level speakers
- short talks by young & early stage researchers
- poster sessions, round table and open discussion periods
- forward look panel discussion about future developments
