Mellina Installs Array Lighting LED Lamps in Marco’s Pizza Atlanta-Area Restaurant

Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ:NEXS) today announced that Mellina LLC, the design-builder for the Marco’s Pizza’s Atlanta-area franchisee, has installed its Array™ Lighting PAR 30 and PAR 16 LED lamps into what is expected to be the first of 80 new franchise locations across Georgia to be lit entirely with LED’s within the next 3 years.

The Array™ lamps replace the front service counter PAR lamps and are also featured in sconces, pendants and bathroom fixtures throughout the restaurant. The installation has helped the Marco’s franchisee to realize improvements in light output as well a reduction in overall energy costs, while substantially reducing maintenance costs.

Mellina LLC consulted with LED lighting sales and solutions provider Greenlight Initiative to evaluate potential high quality, energy efficient LED lighting alternatives to support its ongoing green-building approach for the popular pizza chain’s newest franchise locations in Georgia. According to Greenlight Initiative, this first installation has been well-received in terms of quality and energy savings. “From the outset, we knew that the quality of the lighting would reflect on the quality of the builder, as well as the branding of the Marco’s Pizza franchise,” commented Richard Burton, Greenlight’s Director of Sales. “Array is the one LED PAR lamp brand that we have selected as a result of our extensive qualification program, and we are confident that the promise of low maintenance, energy savings and overall quality will be met over the life of this installation.”

Mike Bauer, CEO of Nexxus Lighting, Inc., commented: “We are very excited about helping the Georgia-area Marco’s Pizza franchisee to save on energy and maintenance costs while also satisfying their unique lighting needs. Array™ is quickly becoming a top-choice LED lighting brand for restaurant and retail chains across the globe, as the lamps can provide up to 80% energy savings and last over 25 times longer than incandescent, thus substantially reducing the need for labor and maintenance associated with having to frequently change light bulbs.”
