Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ:NEXS) today announced that the Ohio State University/Central Ohio Technical College, Newark, Ohio, Campus, which has an estimated enrollment of 6,830 students, will utilize the Array™ Lighting Par 30 and MR 16 Warm White LED lamps in its energy retrofit program sponsored by the local utility, American Electric Power, through its Custom Rebate Program.
The Array LED lamps offer up to an 80% reduction in overall power consumption while reducing maintenance costs due to their 50,000 hour rated life. The Array lamps are being installed in high profile areas where displays of art work and granite walls that list donors to the school and its building and construction projects are highlighted, and where dimming capability is required.
“Thanks to the high color rendering and 3000K temperature of the Array lamps, the lighting quality will be maintained, which was a key goal throughout the LED retrofit analysis,” stated Dr. Jim R. Woolard, Superintendent of Facilities, Ohio State University.
Nexxus Lighting’s Array Lighting LED lamps are quickly becoming a solution for facilities across the globe. The LED replacement lamps provide a way to save on energy and maintenance costs while being environmentally responsible through the reduction of carbon and mercury emissions. Utilizing a unique LED package, patented designs and a patent pending thermal management system, Array LED lamps deliver industry leading lumen per watt performance in an LED replacement lamp and can be dimmed on most standard commercial dimmers.
