Technipower Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets: TECZ), formerly Solomon Technologies, Inc., announced today that the Independent Day School of Middlefield, CT has purchased a 1.6 kW Instant Solar PV system for use as both a clean power generator and educational platform.
"Instant Solar is an ideal way to broaden our students' understanding of renewable energy," said John Barrengos, Head of School of the Independent Day School. "It provides the students with a hands-on opportunity to work with solar technology as well as a class room environment that links basic math and science with the seasons of the year."
Instant Solar is a ground mounted solar PV system consisting of factory assembled, factory tested and easy-to-install PV module arrays coupled to a grid-tied DC/AC inverter. Technipower has enhanced its Instant Solar product with several features to help educators communicate the technology, performance, and value of a solar PV system for the user and for society, including class room teaching tools and a state of the art, web based solar PV monitoring system to provide a real-time educational experience. Technipower is supporting the school with guidance to connect, start-up, and monitor the Instant Solar system to help integrate it in their renewable energy education experience.
"Technipower's Instant Solar product line is rooted in education," commented Dan Connors, President of Technipower. "The early prototypes were a product of an educational and industrial cooperative project, providing a wonderful opportunity for both the company and the students involved." Connors added, "Technipower is marketing Instant Solar to a wide educational market, including middle schools, high schools, vocational schools and colleges, many of which are eligible for federal stimulus money for such projects. Additionally we are pursuing government and military markets through our existing sales channels, while developing new channels to the residential and small commercial users."
