Tachyon Releases New Digital Tachyon XC Micro Helmet Cam

The World’s Toughest Helmet Cam is Now the World’s Smallest

Tachyon™, Inc., the premier innovator of durable, extreme helmet cameras, has announced the launch of its latest digital, mountable camera, the Tachyon XC Micro Helmet Cam. Following the August launch of the 2010 Tachyon XC, the XC Micro offers the same quality features as the 2010 XC, but has a smaller, more compact design.

The Tachyon XC Micro is the industry’s smallest helmet camera with features like water-proofing without an external case, a patented shockproof design, wide field of vision, and superior light-gathering ability. The XC Micro is also the only helmet camera on the market that can accept the entire range of Micro SDHC cards, from 4 to 32GB. The XC Micro’s condensed size combined with its easy to use nature makes it the ideal helmet camera for the adventure enthusiast.

Designed for filming action in extreme conditions, the XC Micro comes with a universal mounting system that can connect the camera to goggles, helmets, sporting equipment, dashboards and more to accommodate the many diverse situations users run into. The sheer size, simplicity and extreme ruggedness of the XC Micro will allow users to forget the camera and focus on their sport.

The new XC Micro boasts a high-dynamic image sensor and a 90 degree wide angle lens, matching the sweet spot of human vision, allowing users to capture clear, undistorted video in low-light situations or underwater.

With loss of video due to loose battery connections being the No. 1 helmet camera complaint, Tachyon developed and patented a shockproof battery system to keep the camera’s batteries locked and secure, so video can survive the shocks of the most adverse situations. Camera users can have peace-of-mind as they capture demanding and often once-in-a-lifetime extreme situations.

“We’re constantly looking to produce high quality, affordable products that fill in the necessary technology holes for our consumers,” said Chris Whitehouse, creative director for Tachyon, Inc. “We listen to our customers and the XC Micro combines the top features requested in a helmet camera in a compact design, allowing customers a supreme adventure experience.”

The XC Micro's 4-hour battery life will also tide users through their adventures, without the worry of dead batteries that plagues other more power-hungry, expensive helmet cameras. The XC Micro's use of common batteries, rather than proprietary ones, means users can easily grab more wherever batteries are sold.

The Tachyon XC Micro can be purchased for $129.99, but as a special deal until the end of November, the purchase price of the XC Micro is just $99.99. The product will be shipped no later than Dec. 12, 2009. To ensure the earliest delivery, Tachyon is now accepting orders at http://www.tachyoninc.com.

Tachyon is also offering the 2010 Tachyon XC for $149.99 (originally $179.99) as a holiday special until the end of November. During these specials, both the 2010 XC and XC Micro will come with a foot-long 3M Dual Lock fastening strip (Outdoor Version). This extraordinary fastener is strong and nearly impossible to find in stores.
