Foundation Patent on PureDepth's MLD Technology Granted in US

PureDepth, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PDEP), the creator of Multi-Layer Display (MLD) technology and a leader in new visualization experiences, today announced that one of its foundation patent applications has been allowed in the United States further expanding upon its worldwide protection. US application 10/048,966, filed by PureDepth with an international priority date of August 19, 1999, covers PureDepth's unique method of displaying data or images on a multi-level screen display, providing the earliest and broadest protection for almost all current and envisaged uses of MLD.

PureDepth's MLD displays contain two or more layers of display panels placed in front of one another in a single monitor. The newly-allowed patent, the 79th awarded to PureDepth and part of a group of foundation base patents, covers the simultaneous, individual, transparent and opaque control of layered imagery - allowing it to be moved from one panel to another - via processor, hardware and embedded or external software. This enables the user to see overlaid objects at the same time - a word processing program and a spreadsheet program for instance - without having to switch from one to the other. The patent's claims cover MLD operating systems, Web browsers, medical and financial applications, GPS, gaming - including casino gaming - video and more.

"The granting of this expansive and fundamental patent strengthens the unique value proposition that MLD technology offers consumers and manufacturers of visual displays," said PureDepth CEO Andy Wood. "By covering a broad range of applications, from browsing the Internet to monitoring important financial data to playing casino games, this patent clearly demonstrates how MLD technology can be applied to and enhance so many aspects of our daily lives, and solidifies PureDepth's leadership position in the space."

PureDepth's latest patents demonstrate an ongoing rapid expansion of its product and licensing developments. Ideal for applications in business, public displays, mobile devices and more, PureDepth's patented technologies provide brilliant alerts, high-contrast viewing, intense colors and real depth, revolutionizing the way people view data, images, video and other content.

PureDepth's MLD technology offers 3-D-like imagery without the need for special glasses. By providing real depth, instead of a simulation, PureDepth's technology delivers the most lifelike and most useful visual experience ever available, without negative side effects like headaches and dizziness. Since its inception, PureDepth has established itself as an innovator in the 3-D and visualization space, and the company continues to expand its leading technology offerings by licensing and supporting its technology with partners, including OEMs and developers, to bring cutting-edge visual display products to market.
