Interests for IS&S's Vantage Cockpit/IP Display System Increases

Innovative Solutions and Support's Vantage Cockpit/IP open architect flat panel display system has been gaining interest with business jet OEMs in this difficult economic climate.

“We are optimistic about the growth opportunities for our extremely versatile new Vantage system,” said Roman Ptakowski, president of Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. (IS&S) (NASDAQ:ISSC). “Vantage is designed to be the common display for most business aircraft.”

The IS&S Vantage is a fully integrated cockpit, created specifically for business aircraft. It allows operators to upgrade their aircraft to a glass cockpit while leaving existing third party avionics installed in the aircraft, thus minimizing the cost and down time of the upgrade. The Vantage system provides users with enhanced situational awareness, increased functionality, and reduced crew workload and weight savings.

This week in Orlando at the National Business Aviation Association’s annual convention, IS&S announced that it will start providing its Flat Panel Display System that will be offered as part of an upgrade program for operators of older Cessna Citation aircraft. Cessna Aircraft Company has received a new Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) allowing installation of Cessna’s AdViz Flat Panel Display system into Cessna Citation 501, 550, 551, S550, and 560 aircraft through its world wide service center network.

IS&S announced today their selection by Dassault Falcon to provide a Flat Panel Display System that will be offered as part of an upgrade program for operators of Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft. Both Cessna’s and Dassault Falcon’s cockpit upgrades are based on IS&S’s versatile Vantage Cockpit/IP (Cockpit Information Portal or CIP).

“The Vantage system enables us to offer a complete cockpit solution, including communications and navigation, to OEMs and reuse of existing systems in retrofit applications,” Ptakowski said. “Vantage’s open architecture enables it to work with a wide variety of different manufacturer’s avionics allowing the operator to select the best of breed new equipment. It also facilitates aircraft retrofits while allowing full functionality of already installed equipment.”

Reusing existing aircraft sensors and subsystems makes Vantage the only truly low cost cockpit upgrade.

The Vantage system is available in two, three or four 10.4-inch Display Unit architectures that provide crisp graphics and sunlight readability. The Vantage system is TSO approved for part 23/25 aircraft and is offered to integrators for supplemental type certification. Options include: e-charts (Jeppesen), electronic checklists, enhanced vision systems, flight management system, on-board cabin video, WAAS LPV, Synthetic Vision and XM Satellite Weather.
