FACSys Connector Passes RiDP Compatibility Testing Process

Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that emFAST Inc.'s FACSys® Connector passed the Ricoh Developer Program(TM) (RiDP(TM)) compatibility testing process.

A fax server based solution, FACSys® streamlines business operations and reduces costs by enabling users to send and receive facsimile messages directly from a Ricoh multifunctional product's (MFP) interface without the need for additional hardware or fax lines.

As a RiDP Premier Plus member, emFAST utilized Ricoh's software development kit (SDK) to fully integrate select ESA-enabled Ricoh MFPs with the company's secure and intuitive fax server solution. Using Ricoh's sophisticated Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) platform, emFAST was able to enhance the capabilities of FACSys® by leveraging the inherent print functions found in Ricoh's MFPs through Ricoh's open architecture.

"emFAST has utilized the Ricoh ESA development platform to take the integration between the FACSys® fax messaging platform and the Ricoh MFP to a whole new level," said Peter Valier, director of IT, emFAST Inc. "The comprehensive, two-way communication afforded by Ricoh technology gives users unparalleled access to fax server resources in a secure, productive and convenient manner."

FACSys® for select Ricoh ESA-enabled MFPs offers a safe and secure environment for sending and receiving faxes while increasing productivity. Users log in with a username and password and can quickly search, attach and transmit documents for easy distribution using the MFP's interface. Incoming faxes are stored on the server in users' FACSys® inboxes. Users access their inbox directly from the MFP and print their fax messages when they are there to receive them, thus eliminating the occurrence of sensitive information being left in fax machine print trays. Additionally, FACSys® enhances compliance as it keeps a record of who logged in, providing an audit trail of who sent what, where to and when.

"Ricoh is pleased to have emFAST's FACSys® fax server technology on our list of RiDP compatible solutions," said Mark Minshull, vice president and chief technology officer, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "The need for a fast and secure method for sending and receiving faxes is essential to businesses, and Ricoh is happy to have emFAST as a trusted partner in meeting our customers' demands."
