Two RSC Awards for Bristol University Chemists

Two staff members in the School of Chemistry at University of Bristol have won Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) industrially sponsored awards.

Professor Mike Ashfold is the winner of the 2006 RSC Industrially-Sponsored Award in Chemical Dynamics. The award cites his wide-ranging and penetrating experimental studies of molecular photodissociation using imaging and translational spectroscopy methods to expose the dynamics in unique detail.

Professor Tom Simpson has been awarded the 2006 RSC Industrially-Sponsored Award in Natural Products Chemistry. The award is for his ‘wide-ranging contributions to the study of natural products, covering isolation and structure elucidation, biosynthesis and synthesis'.
