JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU and TSX: JDU) today announced that Dave Holly has been appointed president of its Communications Test + Measurement business segment, succeeding Tom Waechter, who was named JDSU president and Chief Executive Officer earlier this year. Holly has been serving as interim leader of the test and measurement business since January 1, 2009 and will be responsible for global sales, product development and operations. He will report directly to Waechter.
“We are confident Dave Holly is the ideal person for the job, and during his 17-year tenure he has already contributed in countless ways to the success of the company in general and the communications test and measurement business in particular,” said Waechter. “Dave’s deep industry knowledge, customer focus, skill managing a business unit, and most recent experience as senior vice president of Field Service will provide our test and measurement business with strong and experienced management to support continued market leadership.”
Holly has a proven track record of success within JDSU’s test and measurement business in a variety of increasingly senior marketing, engineering, product development and sales roles. Prior to JDSU he had managerial sales responsibilities at NYNEX (now part of Verizon) and began his career in engineering at IBM.
Holly holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University and a master’s degree in business administration with a specialty in marketing from the State University of New York in Binghamton.
“It is an honor to lead this exceptional team, and my top priorities are to continue expanding JDSU’s market leadership and to carry on the established tradition of designing valuable, innovative test and service assurance products used by service providers and network equipment manufacturers worldwide,” said Holly.
