LED Light for Your Network

Thanks to rapid increases in luminous efficacy and their familiar benefits such as long life and small dimensions, LEDs are now being used more and more for general illumination.

The range of applications includes everything from backlighting to traditional luminaires. Many users however lack experience of using these relatively young light sources. OSRAM has therefore brought together the combined expertise of certified partners on the LLFY internet platform, providing a starting point and tips on using LEDs for general illumination. The platform also gives the latest information on all the components needed to create lighting solutions with LEDs.

Since the platform was launched in April 2006 OSRAM has already certified 25 partners worldwide. The main criteria for certification are core competence and a commitment to LEDs for general illumination. “The customer must be able to rely on the quality of the services offered”, said Volker Härle, Director of LED Marketing. LLFY already offers a balanced portfolio of companies, from highly specialised comparatively small regional firms to international enterprises in the focus regions of Europe, Asia and the countries in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Partner events and workshops on optical, thermal and electronic solutions give employees in the participating companies the opportunity to make personal contacts and thereby benefit from an exchange of know-how. Joint advertising campaigns will follow. www.ledlightforyou.com .
