IntertechPira Announces 10th Installment of Internationally Renowned LEDs Conference

IntertechPira is pleased to announce that the 10th installment of its internationally renowned LEDs conference series will be held October 20-22, 2009, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. LEDs 2009 will be at the epicenter of the solid-state lighting world, driving industry dialogue and addressing salient topics such as how to sustain growth in the midst of a global economic down turn, how to make continued gains in important end-use markets such as LCD backlighting and general illumination, and how to overcome technology roadblocks that currently preclude LEDs from reaching full commercialization.

Featuring more than 40 talks, two intensive pre-conference seminars, an extensive exhibit area, and a best in show award ceremony to recognize the best in the industry, you cannot afford to miss this annual must-attend.

IntertechPira is inviting abstracts from parties interested in presenting at the LEDs 2009 conference.

LEDs 2009 will focus on international business and technical issues, including technical advances and challenges, application trends and production economics.

Of particular interest are submissions for sessions on the LED industry and market forecasts, chip and technology breakthroughs, advances in drivers and cooling technologies, manufacturing materials, the regulatory environment for LED electronics, and emerging applications of LED technology including LCD backlighting. Additional topic ideas are also welcome and will be given full consideration. Case studies are of particular interest.

Topics should focus on the business and technical information that is the subject of the conference, rather than the product line, sales interests or management structure of an individual organization. The total time allotted for each presentation is 30 minutes, with 20-25 minutes for the presentation and 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion.

Topic ideas for preconference seminars are also invited at this time. Preconference seminars are classroom style workshops intended for 20-30 participants. They are designed to provide ample time for in-depth discussion, questions and answers, and student-instructor interaction.

A completed submission should include affiliation, speaker name, job title and contact information, a topic summary of no more than one page and a tentative title and sub-headings for the presentation. Abstracts must be received by May 1, 2009 and may be submitted by fax: +1 207 781 2150 or email: olga.adamovich(at)pira-international.com.
