Ludger Althoff Joins Leica Microsystems Management

The top management of Leica Microsystems GmbH has now been reinforced by the addition of a fourth member of the management board: Ludger Althoff, a qualified mechanical engineer, will be responsible for the production of the company for high-tech precision optic systems, reporting directly to company President Dr. Wolf-Otto Reuter.

Althoff's job at Leica Microsystems will cover all corporate processes relevant to production, including material purchasing and production logistics. Before joining Leica Microsystems, Ludger Althoff worked for machine tool manufacturer Hengstler in Aldingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg since 2001. His first assignment there was to reorganize the production routines, which he successfully completed in the year 2003. Hengstler, like Leica Microsystems a subsidiary of the US-American listed Danaher Corporation, then entrusted Ludger Althoff with various management posts, most recently with the job of Senior Director of the company's automation department.

Ludger Althoff is 41 and the father of three children.
