Leica Microsystems Opens New Subsidiary in Belgium

Leica Microsystems has established a new Sales Subsidiary office in Belgium, to handle directly sales and after-sales support of it's complete product range with effect from 1st May 2007.

Following more than 40 years of successful distribution of Leica products through Van Hopplynus Instruments SA, the two organizations have reached agreement to transfer distribution to Leica Microsystems Belgium BVBA, located near Brussels, which becomes the twelfth country in which Leica Microsystems sells directly in Europe. All former employees of distributor Van Hopplynus Instruments SA are transferring to Leica Microsystems, in a move designed to ensure continuity for existing customers.

Dr. David Martyr, President Leica Microsystems, said: “After decades of successful and trustful cooperation with Van Hopplynus Instruments SA we are delighted that both companies have reached agreement for the future distribution of our products in Belgium. We look forward to a new era of expansion and towards closer co-operation with our many end-users in the territory.”
