Mikrotron, a brand of SVS-Vistek, today introduced its next generation of EoSens portfolio cameras, the EoSens9.5. Leveraging a powerful Luxima 9.5 megapixel CMOS sensor featuring global shutter, coupled with a CoaXPress 2.0 (CXP-12) quad-link interface, it offers an ideal balance between fast processing and best-in-class image quality. The Mikrotron EoSens9.5 caters to a diverse range of applications thanks to its ability to acquire color images at 4096 x 2304 pixel resolution at up to 509 frames per second (fps), while minimizing latency and jitter.

High speed processing is critical in imaging systems that need to make decisions instantly to feed data into algorithms for real-time responses, such as in additive manufacturing, melt pool monitoring, grinding and milling, electronics inspection, and even sports and defense. To meet these bandwidth requirements, the EoSen9.5's CXP-12 interface operates at a data transfer rate of 12.5 Gbps for each of its four lanes, along with transmitting control signals and power to the camera. The four lanes can be also be aggregated to achieve lightning fast 50 Gbps.
The camera also supports 8 simultaneous Region-Of-Interest readouts with flexible window positions, and lets the user obtain faster frame rates through X, Y windowing. For instance, a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels can deliver 71,581 fps, or a resolution of 128 x 24 pixels can reach a frame rate of 225,000 fps.
The Mikrotron EoSens9.5 is protectively enclosed in a shock and vibration resistant IP30-rated metal housing with an operating temperature range of -10 to 60 °C. Rounding out its impressive feature are binning, shading correction and defect pixel correction.
Specifications for the camera are preliminary and subject to change.
