Larson Electronics LLC, a pioneer in industrial emergency lighting, has launched an innovative low-profile, explosion-proof LED light fixture with motion sensor and emergency battery backup.
The fixture offers robust, energy-efficient illumination for users. The 208 W LED lamp has T5 temperature rating with paint spray booth, a compact design, ATEX and IECEx certifications, and terminal strips for wiring, rendering it perfect for offshore applications, paint booths, manufacturing, oil rigs, petrochemical, chemical storage, and much more.
The EPL-EMGX-LP-2X48-LED-MS fixture has emergency backup and motion sensor for Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Class II, and Divisions 1 and 2 locations and offers 27,040 lumens of high-quality light using just 208 W.
The fixture is equipped with two LED lamps, which include two offset LED assemblies, enabling the explosion-proof lamps to realize a very bright 100° horizontal beam spread and a 140° vertical spread.
The LED fixture is lightweight and contains a maintenance-free sealed lead acid battery, which enables a minimum of 90 minutes of operation time in the case of an emergency. The battery has the potential to power one of the lamps at 104 W and 13,520 lumens.
The motion sensor—which is a copper-free, non-sparking aluminum detector—enables robust motion detection for operators, covering 15 feet by 15 feet. It can be adjusted from −90 degrees to +30 degrees vertically upon being installed.
With a width of only 12 inches and a depth of 3 inches, the EPL-EMGX-LP-2X48-LED-MS is highly compact and great for cramped spaces. The LED light is developed using powder-coated cast aluminum and is dust-proof, IP67-rated, and protected against temporary submersion and high-pressure jets. It is also resistant to impacts and vibration.
Thanks to its unique heat-dissipating design coupled with LED technology, this unit can realize 80% lumen retention and a 60,000-hour rated lifespan.
Various mounting options—such as surface mounting, chain hang mounting, or suspension pendant mounting—are offered with the EPL-EMGX-LP-2X48-LED-MS. The unit can work on standard 100–277 V AC, 50/60Hz current without the need for any modifications. It is also fitted with terminal strips for wiring.
This emergency explosion proof light is great for emergency use in smaller hazardous location spaces. It produces twice the light output while taking up less than half the surface area of other larger models and has a maintenance free self-charging battery that runs one lamp during power outages. The addition of a motion sensor offers security as well.”
