The latest products, from Lumentum Holdings Inc. (“Lumentum”), addressing the dynamic industrial diode laser, 3D sensing and commercial laser markets, will be launched by the company at Laser World of Photonics Munich in Munich, Germany, from June 26th - June 29th, 2017, at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Hall A2 – Stand: #320.
Conference attendees are invited to have a look at the newest consumer and industrial diode, commercial laser products and pump. On hand is the latest generation CORELIGHT® Series – Kilowatt-Class Fiber Laser Engines and also the earlier announced 200 W Fiber-Coupled Diode Pump Laser Module ST2, 3D sensing and industrial diode laser displays, the Q-Series® diode-pumped UV lasers and the Lumentum ultrafast laser PicoBlade®2.
Lumentum Pump Lasers
Announced at SPIE Photonics West 2017, a newly developed fiber-coupled pump laser module (the ST2) is currently undergoing full production. Fiber-coupled pump laser modules are considered to be a key component in applications such as pump sources for rod, disk lasers and fiber to name a few. The ST2 is part of the high-brightness and ultra-compact ST series, which enables a “build-your-own” kilowatt (kW) laser. The ST series leverages a prolonged history of using the most enhanced fiber-coupled device packages such as the L4, integrating a greatly reliable design in a scalable commercial product. The ST series is made to go through rigorous testing in order to obtain power stability and endurance to withstand extended use in manufacturing settings.
Ultrafast Industrial Lasers – PicoBlade 2
In the industry, Lumentum is known to have the highest reliability, highest precision, most flexible ultrafast industrial laser portfolios. PicoBlade 2, the latest addition, is in volume production and suitable for a variety of applications ranging from micromachining to metrology and life sciences. Customers from all over the world are taking advantage of its field-established differentiating features: AccuTrig™, Sync, MegaBurst™, and FlexBurst™ to control pulse timing, pulse format and energy for the final throughput.
High-powered Q-Series Lasers
Q306 and Q305, two Series diode-pumped UV lasers, will be showcased in the booth. These two lasers support a wide range of micromaterials processing applications in which customers are allowed to leverage their higher average power in order to bring about faster overall throughput. The lasers deliver up to 1 mJ of energy at 355 nm with excellent beam quality (M2 less than 1.2). The Q-Series is considered to be a greatly significant high-power Q-switched laser solution.
CORELIGHT Series – New Generation Kilowatt-Class Fiber Laser Engines
The next generation CORELIGHT YLE fiber laser engines, showcased earlier this year at SPIE Photonics West 2017, are presently available in production volumes. These highly-configurable and cost-effective fiber laser systems are available in multimodule 4 kW, 6 kW and 9 kW systems and single-module 2 kW and 3 kW systems. A CORELIGHT YLE 9 kW laser system will be showcased by Lumentum at Laser World of Photonics Munich 2017.
The CORELIGHT YLE series fiber laser systems attained as industry-leading position for peak performance and flexibility in challenging welding, cutting and material deposition deployments all over the world. Customers are now offered with additional configuration options in order to differentiate their newest machine tool offerings. CORELIGHT’s excellent beam characteristics allow achieving high-speed cutting performance and high-quality of aluminum, brass, copper, steel and several other materials. CORELIGHT products fulfill high-reliability standards vital for high-volume macromachining industrial environments.
3D Sensing
Lumentum has a broad variety of 3D sensing products to enable next-generation capabilities for a wide range of consumer electronics and automotive applications. Lumentum products comprise of one of the industry’s most dependable high-power diode laser portfolios including vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), fiber-coupled devices, and edge-emitters. 3D sensing capabilities will be showcased by a light detection and ranging (lidar) display and a VCSEL wafer.
